This retro candy has even had its share of fame in the form of urban legends, when people spread a rumour about Mikey from the Life cereal commercials. They claimed that he sadly exploded when he ate Pop Rocks and drank a can of soda. When in actuality, this never happened.
In fact, Mikey is alive and well and enjoys a packet of Pop Rocks on occasion.
